What is chiropractic?
Chiropractic, derived from the Greek words chir (operative) and praktikos (practical), is simply that: a practical, affordable, and effective method of preventative healthcare. Chiropractic, according to Webster’s dictionary, is “a system of therapy which holds that disease results from a lack of normal nerve function and which employs manipulation and specific adjustment of body structures (as the spinal column)”. Chiropractors treat their patients by using manual adjustments which are mainly performed by using the hands (however, there are machines that can do this as well) and applying a quick jolt of pressure to parts of the body, especially the spine.
What are the benefits of chiropractic?
Chiropractic is effective, drug free, and surgery free. It's affordable, and people of all ages can benefit from it. Children need care too! A lot of parents in chiropractic care don’t even think about getting their kids adjusted but often times, they are the ones who need it most. Getting your kids adjusted can help with many childhood problems that are often perceived as “normal”, such as ear infections, bed wetting, mood swings, stomach problems and muscle cramps. Many ailments can be treated with chiropractic, from migraine headaches to sprained ankles and everything in between.
